Carefree hosts gardening seminar | Options

Gardening educator and writer Kirti Mathura will return to the Carefree Desert Gardens on Saturday, Feb. 11, for a seminar on drought-tolerant landscaping. 

The software, which ordinarily includes a plant raffle, starts at 9:30 a.m. and operates via midday at the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion in the town centre. A donation — $5 or extra — is appreciated to assistance these systems.

The city of Phoenix issued a stage-1 h2o warn activation of the drought management approach in June 2022. Mathura will talk about that via h2o-performance, reasonable scheduling and proper all-about maintenance, residents can nonetheless have stunning landscapes in periods of severe drought.

Mathura has worked at the Desert Botanical Backyard in Phoenix for about 17 many years. She worked as the horticulturist for Cesar Mazier Landscaping & Consulting and Singh Farms. She taught plant materials for the landscape architecture application at ASU’s University of Style. 

She is the software coordinator for the Smartscape schooling with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and teaches landscaping and gardening workshops in the Valley. Mathura authored “The Arizona Very low Desert Flower Garden” and has contributed to other landscaping and gardening publications, such as Desert Landscaping for Newbies, published by Arizona Master Gardener Press.
