Proposed zero emission landscaping products rules in Menlo Park

Menlo Park people want the Metropolis to deal with noise and air pollution induced by gas driven gardening tools with proposed new rules for zero emission tools.

The Metropolis Council will make a decision on new guidelines in April or May 2023. If accepted:

  • Use of gas-driven leaf blowers and string trimmers (weed whackers) will not be permitted setting up July 2024.
  • Use of other gasoline-powered gardening equipment these types of as chain saws, lawnmowers and hedge trimmers would not be allowed setting up January 2029.

Consider action

  2. Distribute the term to your gardener about the survey and give them the electrical tools price reduction handout.
  3. Avid walker in your neighborhood? Print or pick up printed copies of the electric powered machines low cost handout during small business hrs at the Developing Allow counter at Metropolis Hall (701 Laurel St.). Give to gardeners you see in your neighborhood or gently put on gardener’s car or truck.
  4. Occur to a digital conference to find out about proposed rules, choices to gasoline driven landscaping tools, gardeners’ feedback, and how you can help the group transition. Register at menlopark.gov/zele.
